How Does an Indashed Building Stand Up to Oklahoma Weather?

Every Indashed building is manufactured right here in Oklahoma and engineered specifically for our challenging climate. The durable metal construction is designed to handle wind speeds up to 90 mph when properly anchored, making these buildings particularly well-suited to Oklahoma's severe weather patterns. The robust construction provides superior protection against storms, rain, and intense sun exposure, offering significantly better durability than traditional storage buildings.

What Are My Color and Customization Options?

Your Indashed building can be customized to complement your home's exterior using our selection of Valspar® paint colors. These aren't just any paint finishes – they feature a two-coat modified siliconized polyester coating that's baked onto the metal, creating a molecular bond that resists UV damage and won't flake. This premium finish comes with a 40-year manufacturer's limited warranty, ensuring your building will maintain its appearance for decades.

What Type of Foundation Do I Need for a Shed?

This is one of the most common questions we hear from Oklahoma homeowners, and the answer depends on your specific situation. Here are your main options:

Concrete Pad

A level concrete pad is ideal for permanent installation. It should be at least 4 inches thick and extend 6 inches beyond the building dimensions on all sides. This option provides the most stable base and best long-term performance, particularly in Oklahoma's clay soils that tend to shift with moisture changes.

Compacted Gravel Base

A properly prepared gravel base offers a cost-effective alternative to concrete. It should be compacted to a minimum 4-inch depth using crushed stone or gravel. This option provides good drainage but requires periodic releveling in some soil conditions.

Crushed Stone

Similar to gravel but using larger crushed stone, this option provides excellent drainage and can be particularly effective in areas with poor soil drainage. The key is proper compaction and ensuring the base extends beyond the building footprint.

Treated Wood Platform

A treated wood platform can work well when properly constructed. It must be perfectly level and adequately supported to prevent sagging or shifting. This option requires more maintenance than other foundation types but offers flexibility for future relocation.

Regardless of which foundation type you choose, proper drainage is crucial in Oklahoma's climate. The site should be graded to direct water away from the building, and appropriate anchoring points must be installed to meet wind resistance requirements.

What Maintenance Will My Indashed Need?

One of the advantages of metal construction is minimal maintenance requirements. An annual inspection of the door hardware, periodic checking of anchor points, and occasional cleaning of debris from the roof and gutters is typically all that's needed. The durable finish means you won't have to worry about painting or treating the exterior like you would with a wooden structure.
